Question: What are the benefits
of EXPRESSNET DSL or Wireless high-speed access?
Answer: You will be able to talk
on the telephone and surf the Internet simultaneously. Web pages just
"pop up" because DSL or Wireless is
6 to 26 times faster than dial-up! We offer connect speeds ranging from
up to 384 Kbps through 1.5 Meg. This is an always on connection
plugged into a network card inside your computer.
Question: How Much Does EXPRESSNET High-Speed
Internet
Cost?
Question:
What is the difference between
EXPRESSNET DSL and Wireless high-speed service?
Answer: DSL (Digital Subscriber
Line) is a technology for bringing high-bandwidth connectivity to homes
and small businesses over existing copper telephone lines. DSL works by
utilizing your existing telephone line to provide you both voice and data
access at the same time. Therefore, it is not necessary to have two phone lines – one for
voice and one for Internet.
| Wireless high-speed
Internet brings high-bandwidth connectivity through the air
via a transmitter (tower). Our
technicians will install an antenna on the outside of your home
or office to communicate with our tower. A network cable
from that antenna is then connected into your computer's network
card or a router. |

Our tower services an entire community |
Our Wireless service is designed to
provide an entire community with high-speed Internet connectivity. This
differs from a LAN (Local Area Network) wireless structure that is
designed to provide wireless connectivity to a small area such as the
confines of your home or office.
Question:
If I have your Wireless Internet service or DSL
can I also have a wireless router in my home?
Answer:
Yes. You can plug the network cable from our equipment
directly into a wireless router.
Question:
Which is faster EXPRESSNET DSL or
Wireless?

Your computer must have a
network interface card (NIC) installed. We provide our subscribers
with a DSL modem or Wireless antenna. This equipment plugs into your
computer's network card via a standard cat-5 Ethernet cable.
Question: If I sign up for
EXPRESSNET High-Speed Internet will I still be
billed for dialup?
Answer: No. These are two completely different services.
Dialup Internet access is an old technology that uses a modem inside your
computer to connect to the Internet through an analog (voice) telephone
call over your phone line. High speed Internet access uses your computer's
network card to deliver a much faster, pure digital connection over
computer networking cable (cat-5 ethernet cable).
Question: Do I need a new phone
line?
Answer: Not necessarily. You can
run both voice and data off of one telephone line with our DSL product
offering. As with Wireless access no telephone is necessary.
