A.) Click Start

B.) Choose Settings

C.) Click Control Panel

In the Control Panel click  the Network icon

In the Network area you must double-click the TCP/IP
settings associate with your network card
.

In this example the network card is an
AMD PCNET Family Ethernet Adapter.

Within the TCP/IP Properties window
Click the IP Addresses tab at the top.

Place the radial button next to
"Obtain an IP address automatically"

Now click the DNS Configuration tab at the top.

Place the radial button next to
"Disable DNS"

DSL Troubleshooting Procedure

If your DSL Internet access is not working properly and you are receiving "Page cannot be displayed" messages in Internet Explorer or errors while checking email do the following:

  1. Turn off your DSL modem (you may have to unplug the power source). Wait a few seconds and then turn the modem on.

You will need to wait for the modem to fully synchronize with our equipment. You should have a steady Ready or Synch light when the modem connects.  If the Ready or Synch light continues to blink after 10 minutes please notify our main office at (800) 242-5915 as there is a problem with the telephone circuit.  If the modem properly synchronizes and you cannot surf the web proceed to step 2.

  2. If you have a router connected to the DSL modem you will need to power-cycle the router (again you may have to unplug its power source).  If you do not have a router and/or are still unable to surf the web proceed to step 3.

  3. Re-start your computer.  If you still are unable to surf the web or send/receive email please contact our main office at (800) 247-8885.
