DSL Setup Instructions
The majority of our high-speed
ExpressNet DSL subscribers are setup
in a method where our equipment hands all the connectivity information to them
when their computer or networking equipment is powered on. This is called
DHCP. For this method all you must do is setup your computer's network
card to "Obtain an IP address automatically".
1.) Make sure you have your DSL modem
turned on and the indicator light signifies a connection to our equipment.
2.) Click the "Start" button, "Connect
To" and "Show all connections".
3.) In the LAN or High-Speed Internet area,
right click over the icon for your network card named "LAN area connection"
and choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu.
4.) In the window that pops up under the
heading "This connection uses the following items" scroll down and highlight "Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click the "Configure" button.
5.) In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Properties window click the radial button next to "Obtain an IP address
automatically" and press "OK". Back out of all the screens by
pressing the "OK" button.
6.) Restart your computer.
