-  If a window pops up labeled “Location Information” continue with this step.  If not, go to step eight.

-  Under “Location Information” make sure the country is selected as the United States.  Then put in your area code and click on start.

10.) Then it asks “How do you want to connect to the internet?”  Here you need to fill in the bubble next to “Set up my connection manually” then click next.

12.) The next window asks for an ISP Name.  This stands for Internet Service Provider and you need to type in “CV Internet” or whatever you would recognize the connection to be, then click “Next.”

13.) Now it asks you “What is your ISP’s phone number?”  Type the phone number that you use to dial up to your internet service in the box.  NOTE: This number varies with your location.  To find the number you will need to look at the chart below.  You do not need to place any dashes in the number.

DSL Setup Instructions

The majority of our high-speed ExpressNet DSL subscribers are setup in a method where our equipment hands all the connectivity information to them when their computer or networking equipment is powered on.  This is called DHCP.  For this method all you must do is setup your computer's network card to "Obtain an IP address automatically".

1.)  Make sure you have your DSL modem turned on and the indicator light signifies a connection to our equipment.

2.) Click the "Start" button, "Connect To" and "Show all connections".

3.) In the LAN or High-Speed Internet area, right click over the icon for your network card named "LAN area connection" and choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu.

4.) In the window that pops up under the heading "This connection uses the following items" scroll down and highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click the "Configure" button.

5.)  In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window click the radial button next to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and press "OK".  Back out of all the screens by pressing the "OK" button.

6.) Restart your computer.
