Lucky Number 13 Profits 15,600

The 13th Annual Employee Sponsored "Hotter Than Heck" Charity Golf Tournament didn't start out so lucky. Originally scheduled for July 20th, the tournament came to an abrupt halt before it even began due to heavy rains and thunderstorms. The tournament was rescheduled for September 28th and what a profitable day it turned out to be for the Fire Departments!

Our Annual Employee-Sponsored Charity Golf Tournament is held each summer. Employees donate their time and talents to help make these money making tournaments possible. Over the past years, we have served a variety of food to the players including hamburgers, fajitas and BBQ brisket. Donations of prizes, food and sponsorships are solicited from various businesses and other vendors.  Approximately $160,600 has been donated thus far.

  • $19,500 to local area Volunteer Fire Departments (2005)

  • $14,690 to local area Volunteer Fire Departments (2002)

  • $11,300 to local area Volunteer Fire Departments

  • $5,000 to LGISD - To help pay for new playground equipment (1999)

  • $5,000 to the American Cancer Society -To help fund research (local chapter) (1999)

  • $4,500 to Special Olympics (LGISD) -To pay for the cost of participating in Special Olympic competitions (1998)

  • $500 to Deputy Santa -To purchase Christmas toys for needy Fayette County children (1998)

  • $4,000 to the American Cancer Society - To help fund research (local chapter) (1997)

  • $4,000 to Students With Special Needs -To provide equipment to assist with learning disabilities (1997)

  • $3,000 to D.A.R.E. -To purchase text books and other educational materials (D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Awareness Resistance & Education) (1996)

  • $3,000 to the Special Olympics -To fund sporting events and other necessary items (local chapter) (1996)

  • $6,400  - To Students with Special Needs (1995)
